In 2011 Founder Molly Metz of JumpNrope developed a new type of freestyle jump rope handle. Traditional handles are made of hard plastic and tend to shatter or snap. Molly created a longer and flexier material so the handle will never snap, perfect for all your favorite crossing moves! The rope is accompanied with a non-stretchy black nylon braided cord and colorful beads. The beads slow the rope down excessively. This slow/resistance to the rope allows the athlete time to think and feel their next move. Many athletes learning crossing skills in jump rope will enjoy the slow feeling of this rope. We recommend any athlete who is working on crossing skills to opt for the beaded or 2.5 freestyle rope.
The rope comes with bushings that are placed in the handles, which allow the rope to turn freely and not wind up. The rope can be sized by tying a knot into the cord inside of the handle, without damaging the line.
